Story Behind the Photo:
For the long story check out my blog post.
Walking aimlessly through toadstool has to be my favorite thing to do. No one around for miles and the stars are so bright that they light the foreground on their own. I actually barely use my headlamp when I'm out there. It's almost like a different planet out there. When shooting astrophotography in toadstool, you have to be aware that every 30 minutes or so there is a train that comes by and the headlight will blow out your shot. So I have come to terms with the fact that I cannot timelapse there. Which enabled me to spend my time there practicing new techniques and settings when shooting astrophotography.
